As a contracted Medi-Cal doula provider, I’m able to offer this coverage to my clients, ensuring they receive the guidance and reassurance that every birthing person deserves.

California has recognized the impact doulas can have on birth experiences, outcomes, and postpartum recovery. While Medi-Cal already offers this benefit, a new law will require all insurance companies to cover doula care as a preventative service by 2027.
In the meantime, Medi-Cal is leading the way, ensuring that more parents—especially those who might not otherwise have access to this kind of support—can benefit from having a doula by their side.

Medi-Cal postpartum visits are valid until your baby’s first birthday! That means you can continue receiving doula support well beyond those first few weeks, whether you need guidance on recovery, feeding, newborn care, or just someone to check in and offer encouragement.
