Motherhood is a journey like no other—a season of overwhelming love, seismic change, and profound transformation. Yet, amid the beauty of welcoming new life, many mothers face feelings of isolation, uncertainty, and emotional turbulence. The truth is, we’re not meant to do this alone.
Join us in the Garden of Verses at the Murrieta Public Library for a very special gathering. Hosted by Gem of the Valley Doula Services and The Serene Mother, this Postpartum Support Group is a sanctuary where moms can connect, share their experiences, and start building the village every mother deserves.
Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual, and while the internet may be overflowing with advice, what many of us crave is the human connection of someone saying, “Me too.”
Postpartum isn’t just sleepless nights and endless diaper changes. It’s an emotional storm influenced by fluctuating hormones, physical recovery, and the mental weight of adjusting to life with a newborn. For some, it’s navigating postpartum depression (PPD) or postpartum anxiety (PPA). For others, it’s grappling with the lingering echoes of birth trauma.
We often hear, “It takes a village to raise a child,” but it takes a village to lift up a mother, too. And yet, in today’s world, that village doesn’t always materialize naturally. It requires intentional action—stepping out of your comfort zone to find the support your soul is yearning for.
This is the first step.
Picture this: a welcoming, enclosed garden, where moms of all walks of life come together. Tiny hands exploring the safe outdoor space while mothers share stories, struggles, and victories. There’s no judgment, no pressure—just a group of women dedicated to holding space for one another.
This support group offers:
A welcoming, safe environment to speak openly about your postpartum journey.
Opportunities to connect with local moms who understand your experiences.
A chance to learn about resources available in the Murrieta and Temecula Valley, from postpartum mental health support to the practical tools offered by the Murrieta Library’s “Library of Things.”
Time to recharge while your little ones safely explore the garden area.
We know it’s not always easy to leave the house when you’re postpartum. But this group is your invitation to take that first brave step—not just for your baby, but for yourself.
One of the unspoken truths of motherhood is how lonely it can feel, even when surrounded by family. Many of us experience moments where the weight of responsibility, paired with the exhaustion of giving so much of ourselves, feels crushing.
But connection changes everything. When mothers come together, something magical happens. We recognize ourselves in each other’s stories. We offer comfort, advice, or even just the reassurance of silent nods and knowing smiles. These small acts of community build the foundation for thriving—not just surviving—in motherhood.
Moms deserve more than just encouragement; they need tangible, accessible support that empowers them during the postpartum journey. That’s why this initiative shines a light on the wealth of local and digital resources available to help postpartum mothers navigate this transformative season.
Did you know the Murrieta Library’s “Library of Things” offers practical tools like a Postpartum Depression Kit? Or that apps like Hoopla and cloudLibrary provide free access to audiobooks, eBooks, and parenting guides, such as Nine Golden Months or The First Forty Days? These resources can turn those middle-of-the-night feeding sessions into moments of learning and connection.
Beyond books, organizations like Care Solace provide mental health navigation services, helping mothers and families connect with counselors, therapists, or support groups tailored to their needs.
This group is about more than just connecting mothers with each other; it’s about equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and community support systems that make the postpartum experience less overwhelming and far more fulfilling. Together, we can help moms bridge the gap between feeling isolated and feeling supported.
I couldn’t be more grateful to partner with Rochelle Kusicki, founder of The Serene Mother, in co-hosting this event. Rochelle’s dedication to empowering moms as a birth doula in our local community is truly inspiring. Her warmth, wisdom, and passion for supporting women are invaluable assets to this group. Together, we’re creating a space where every mom feels seen, heard, and valued!
This is your invitation to join us for an uplifting morning of connection, support, and community. Whether you’re a new mom navigating the rollercoaster of postpartum or a seasoned mother looking to expand your village, we welcome you with open arms.
